Perusing the antique markets for art here in Italy has been the most rewarding treasure hunt of my life. As I pour over sketches, lithographs, and art prints, I find myself saying “jackpot” on repeat, my hands frozen as I flip through print after print in the piazza on Saturday morning.
My husband and I have been mulling over a project we could work on together that would be fun for both, but nothing was mutually impressive…until it smacked us over the head. My inbox was flooded when I shared one of my favorites finds, original art from 1838. The direct access we have to mountains of original European art blows my mind. Our art-loving American friends started asking me to hunt around for them…and so the obsession began in the most organic way.
